The Coup de Crayon collection offers carte blanche to artists for whom painting, drawing or collage is at the heart of their practice – to think of a series in books. This is how Nathalie Du Pasquier imposed a short time of creation in the summer of 2018 to realize the 50 unpublished drawings of Andata Ritorno, 2nd opus of the collection.
Andata Ritorno, captivating back and forth between reality and imagination, presents objects of daily life re-arranged in ephemeral and intriguing geometric shapes, always presented face to face in a colorful and dynamic layout.
Nathalie Du Pasquier was born in Bordeaux in 1957. She moved to Milan in 1979 and became one of the founding members of the Memphis group in 1980. During these years, she designed many “coloured surfaces”: textiles, carpets, objects and furniture, as well as designs for the furniture of other designers. In 1987, she gave painting a central place in her work.
The Coup de Crayon collection aims to present the personal approach of artists who have a practice of painting, drawing or even collage. In 2019, the Coup de Crayon collection invites Iris de Moüy, Nathalie du Pasquier and Johanna Tagada to think of a book series.
